Perhaps this, and number I should have been in the Library section. But now that we're here, might as well stay.

Even more reputation-destructive than the admission of having only bronze-age knowledge, the God-inspired inerrant word in the bible becomes documentation of having given direction to wartime atrocities, and guilt of inhumanities to man by the omnipetent God who inspired these writings. Documentation that would be welcomed as factual accusation of war crimes in a court such as that held in Nuremburg after the defeat of Hitler.

DEUT 2:34 At that time we seized all his cities and put every one of them that was inhabited under the divine curse, even the women and children; there was not a single survivor.

NUMB 31:17 Now therefore kill every boy, and kill every woman who has had sexual intercourse with a man. AND 31:18 But all the young women who have not had sexual intercourse with a man will be yours.

JOSH 6:21 They annihilated with the sword everything that breathed in the city, including men and women, young and old, as well cattle, sheep, and donkeys.

1 SAM 15:3 So go now and strike down the Amalekites. Destroy everything that they have. Don't spare them. Put them to death-man, woman, child, infant, ox, sheep, camel, and donkey alike.'"

So is this God overly proud of his murderous directions to his "Chosen People" (who perhaps innocently paid for His sins in the Holocaust) or did his reknowned all-knowingness fail him when it came to realizing that by the 20th century, war crimes would be seen as just that.... CRIMES!
